Ways to Volunteer
Your experiences as a Scholar during your Penn State years and your achievements since then uniquely position you to impact the lives of current Scholars and the future of the honors college. Counseling current Scholars on career choices, sharing your Penn State experience with prospective students and their parents, and connecting with fellow Scholar alumni at events are ways for you to stay involved with the Schreyer Honors College.
As a volunteer, you will join a vibrant and growing community of Scholar alumni who are sharing their time and talent with the college. There are a wide range of volunteer opportunities regardless of your class year or occupation. They include:
Mentoring current Scholars
Sharing career/educational experiences at forums on campus
Planning the annual Scholar Alumni Reunion
Supporting the college financially
Nominating alumni for awards
Serving on committees or the Scholar Alumni Society Board
Hosting events:
- Summer sendoffs for first-year Scholars in your area
- Recruitment events for high school seniors and their parents
- Regional gatherings of fellow Scholar alumni
Contact SHC development coordinator Tammy Williams today and let us know which of these opportunities interest you!
