Mentor a Scholar
Mentoring with Honors Program
The mentoring relationship is a one-year commitment made by both the Scholar and Scholar alumnus/a to create and develop a relationship that we hope will be a beneficial professional and life-changing experience. It is not uncommon that the mentor and protégé mutually agree to continue their mentoring relationship for longer periods of time.
Eligibility: Open to all Scholar alumni and to Scholars in good academic standing
To complete your application:
- Please complete this short online biographical information form.
- Please submit a current resume via e-mail attachment to scholaralumni@psu.edu.
The Role of Alumni Mentors
- Develop a supportive relationship with your protégé and share information about your own successes, failures, career choices and life experiences, as appropriate.
- Assist the protégé in applying classroom learning to broader life and work experiences.
- Take the initiative to contact your protégé periodically (in person one time per year and at least two times per semester by phone, e-mail or mail).
- Serve as a resource for information, counsel, and support.
We invite all mentors to provide feedback on the program to the appropriate staff. If you have questions about any of the Honors College's mentoring programs, please contact Donna L. Meyer at dlh15@psu.edu or 814-863-4542.
